This week I’m sharing another kombucha cocktail with you, only this time leaving out the alcohol! This Sparking Citrus Kombucha Mocktail was inspired by a Cranberry Gimlet I had while in San Francisco last week. If you live in the San Francisco area, I highly recommend checking out Two Sisters Bar & Books in Hayes Valley. The drinks were creative and tasty, and the staff was super helpful and nice.
While you could definitely go for it and add gin to this recipe to make a traditional gimlet, I wanted to give my body a break. If you follow me on Instagram you saw my travels on the West Coast last week. After all of the drinks and treats, my body is dying for a little reset. These kombucha mocktails are detoxifying and refreshing. Plus the orange gives you a nice little Vitamin C kick to keep away the colds that have been flying around.
Limes happen to be packed with health benefit as well. I’m sure many of you have been told to drink lemon water, but lime can actually be even better for you. It has been shown to improve digestion, aid in weight loss, and slow the buildup of plague on your artery walls. Hello heart health!
Speaking of heart health, my grandfather had a heart attack last week. As soon as I answered the phone I knew my Dad was going to tell me bad news. Thankfully he’s recovering well, but it really makes you stop and think about how you treat your body. What you do today, no matter what age you are, has serious effects in the long run. I’m not saying lets all be perfect and absolutely 100% healthy, every hour of every day. But what makes you feel good and energized? Like you can accomplish anything? Keep eating what you need so that you can complete the workouts that help you feel on top of your game. This way you can live a long, healthy life with a powerful, strong heart inside of you.
Alright, health benefits aside, this mocktail is tasty, tasty, TASTY! So let’s get mixin’ and heal our bodies with food, shall we?!

Hello! As a Kombucha fan, I will enjoy this receipe, which is timely as I just read an article in today’s Roa Times about the carcinogenic effects of alcohol. How could I not have known this?

Of course this is unwelcomed news for many–including me–as the preponderance of social life revolves around drinking. Another issue for me is weight gain as these non-nutritional liquid cals add up fast. So…
Will ck out your Cali pics. So sorry to hear about your grandfather. Wishing him well and speedy recovery. My heart surgery was 4 yrs ago and I am thankful for everyday. Love you, Emily, big hugs, AP
