With the Super Bowl quickly approaching, I wanted to be sure to throw together a simple snack for you to munch on during the big game. This easy homemade hummus with lemons and kalamata olives is perfect for dipping veggies, crackers, or any other crunchy vessel. All you have to do is add everything to your food processor, blend it up, and BAM super easy homemade hummus.
When planning a snack spread, hummus is always a part of mine. It’s just so easy, and I LOVE crunchy things when I’m feeling snacky. I know many of you are probably perfectly happy with your store bought hummus. But I wanted to share this recipe with you all to highlight how easy it is to make your own. Without any weird added preservatives or chemical that you might find in some store bought versions.
To make this easy homemade hummus you literally just add everything to your food processor and blend it up. Next step is grab a carrot stick and dig in! So take 10 minutes before the Super Bowl starts to blend up some easy homemade hummus. Share with friends during the game, and impress them with your skills.
Side note–did you know that “Super Bowl” is trademarked? There are businesses in Minneapolis that are near the stadium and have special events planned over the next week, but they’re having to call them events for the “Big Game”. My friend works in one of the hospitals as a labor and delivery nurse, and she is having to say things like, “If you come in for delivery during the Big Game,” instead of just referring to the Super Bowl. How ridiculous is that?
Another reason to try this easy homemade hummus? You can mix and match flavors! I went with a traditional combination this time around just to keep things simple, but I have some cool ideas for next time. Like….buffalo hummus?? Maybe I’m just saying that because I have buffalo chicken cooking in my slow-cooker right now though. But I do really think it’d taste great!
Whether you plan to watch the Super Bowl next weekend or not, you need to try this easy homemade hummus with lemon and kalamata olives!
Until next time. Be well,
